Penn State THON™
THON is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Our mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness, and ensure funding for critical research—all in pursuit of a cure. The yearlong fundraising efforts culminate in a 46 hour no-sitting no-sleeping dance marathon.

THON 2025
Independent Dancer Couple
This year my friend, Makayla and I are participating as an Independent Dancer Couple (IDC) for THON 2025. An IDC is a couple who raises money to dance in THON without affiliation to an organization and must independently raise $3,500 to receive their first ticket into a lottery to dance THON Weekend. We began our fundraising efforts in July and will continue our work throughout the year in dedication to fulfilling THON's mission of conquering childhood cancer. We have held multiple successful fundraisers and had the opportunity to tour Penn State Children's Hospital the sole beneficiary of THON through Four Diamonds.
THON 2024
Primary THON Chair
As PRSSA's Primary THON Chair, I coordinated our involvement and effort with Penn State THON so that they align with the organization’s mission. I served as the primary contact between THON chairs, our executive board, and the organization’s chapter. We fundraised a record-breaking total of $10,660.03 For The Kids! I was honored to represent PRSSA as one of our dancers for THON Weekend 2024. The experience is hard to articulate in few words other than truly magical. I danced in pursuit of a cure and so that no family or friend ever has to lose a loved one to childhood cancer.
THON 2023
THON Fundraising Chair
As the THON Fundraising Chair for PRSSA, I was responsible for brainstorming, organizing, and executing alternative fundraisers to drive participation and excitement in the lead-up to THON Weekend. I found creative ways to encourage members to participate to maximize our fundraising efforts. I actively supported our two dancers THON Weekend by visiting them on the floor countless times, dropping off dancer mail and rallying support in the stands.
